Hello all, my name is Matt and I have joined Bright Digital Minds as an Account Manager having gained experience in both account management and marketing in the tourism industry.
Being from Leicester originally, I look forward to lauding it over my Derby County supporting colleagues as Leicester City inevitably finish the season above them yet again.
I enjoy travel, and spent a year abroad working in New Zealand. My next big adventure will hopefully be to South America – unfortunately this depends very much on my finances and holiday allowances!
On my weekends you will find me with a pint, a guitar, or some sports equipment in hand; having jumped countries and cities quite a bit over the last few years I look forward to laying down some roots in Sheffield.
I hope to learn and grow along with Bright Digital Minds and I’m sure it is the start of something good for both myself and the company.
Getting to know Matt;
Can you say: ’Peter Pepper Picked a Pickled Pepper’ and cross-sell a washing machine at the same time?
I probably couldn’t do either separately, let alone together.
How many cows are in Canada?
A little known fact about Canadian cows is that they are known locally as ‘maple-moos’. This is due to the distinctive maple flavour of their milk caused by the roots of the many Canadian maple trees flavouring the grass of the prairies.
The above fact is not true.
If we came to your house for dinner, what would you prepare for us?
I would prepare scintillating wit and repartee, rum daiquiris, and a packet of Bombay Mix.
How would you explain Twitter to your Nan?
Very loudly into her ‘good ear’.
Which item would you take to a desert island and why?
Sun cream because I am whiter than a sheet of bleached A4 paper.
Would you rather fight a horse-sized duck, or 100 duck-sized horses?
I think it would be quite satisfying to don some steel cap boots and simply kick away an onrushing hoard of 100 duck-sized horses. I’d also be a bit concerned if a horse-sized duck took flight and decided to evacuate its bowels mid-flight.
How many ways can you get a needle out of a haystack?
Lots, but just get your common or garden industrial sized magnet and wave it around the haystack until successful.
How many people are using Facebook in San Francisco at 2:30pm on a Friday?
According to the 2011 census, the approximate population of San Francisco is 813,000. According to Facebook, nearly a third (31.2%) of the population of the USA and Canada use Facebook. This leads me to conclude that around 254,000 people in San Francisco have potential access to Facebook. Taking into consideration the time of day when most people are at work or school and have probably finished their lunch breaks, it is safe to assume that the majority of those users will not be using Facebook at that time. This leads me to assert that <127,000 people will be on Facebook. Further considering the unemployed, students, and people who use facebook at work, it would be safe to assume a minimum of around 20,000 people will be active at this time. Taking the midpoint between these two figures, my estimated answer would be that around 54,000 people are using Facebook in San Francisco at 2.30pm on a Friday.
Name 5 uses of a stapler without staple pins.
· Stick some googly eyes on it and make a bitey yet friendly desk-monster-companion.
· Depending on the size, it could make a serviceable murder weapon when you’ve left your crowbar at home and are in a pinch.
· Extract the internal spring and use it to facilitate usage of a broken clicky pen, or to craft a miniature pogo stick.
· A simple yet stylish paperweight solution.
· Use as normal to give an attractive indented line border to those boring office documents.
Given the numbers 1 to 1000, what is the minimum numbers guesses needed to find a specific number if you are given the hint “higher” or “lower” for each guess you make.
With my pedantic hat on, the minimum number of guesses you would need is 1 if you are lucky enough to guess first time. The maximum number of guesses needed to guarantee the right answer is 10.
