Hannah Swift

Hannah Swift
I’m Hannah, the owner, founder, MD and general dogsbody of Bright Digital Minds. I set up the company back in 2011 after a number of years working in performance marketing. I set up the company as I wanted to provide merchants, affiliates and networks high quality service with unrivalled results. I pride myself and the team on going the extra mile on service but also education. We strive to educate our clients and partners and ourselves in all things digital so that we are constantly ahead of the game.
Despite having a degree in Geology and Science Communication, I’ve spent the last few years prior to setting up BDM agency and client side managing a range of campaigns.
If I’m not in the office (at all hours) I can be found under water, scuba diving! It’s a massive passion of mine, so much so I do regular team trips out to get them all involved in diving too! I can also been seen on the comedy circuit, as a blogger, not yet a performer!

Matt Bowyer

Account Manager

Matt Bowyer - Bright Digital Minds
Hello all, my name is Matt and I have joined Bright Digital Minds as an Account Manager having gained experience in both account management and marketing in the tourism industry.

Being from Leicester originally, I look forward to lauding it over my Derby County supporting colleagues as Leicester City inevitably finish the season above them yet again.

I enjoy travel, and spent a year abroad working in New Zealand. My next big adventure will hopefully be to South America – unfortunately this depends very much on my finances and holiday allowances!

On my weekends you will find me with a pint, a guitar, or some sports equipment in hand; having jumped countries and cities quite a bit over the last few years I look forward to laying down some roots in Sheffield.

I hope to learn and grow along with Bright Digital Minds and I’m sure it is the start of something good for both myself and the company.

Getting to know Matt;
Can you say: ’Peter Pepper Picked a Pickled Pepper’ and cross-sell a washing machine at the same time?
I probably couldn’t do either separately, let alone together.

How many cows are in Canada?
A little known fact about Canadian cows is that they are known locally as ‘maple-moos’. This is due to the distinctive maple flavour of their milk caused by the roots of the many Canadian maple trees flavouring the grass of the prairies.
The above fact is not true.

If we came to your house for dinner, what would you prepare for us?
I would prepare scintillating wit and repartee, rum daiquiris, and a packet of Bombay Mix.

How would you explain Twitter to your Nan?
Very loudly into her ‘good ear’.

Which item would you take to a desert island and why?
Sun cream because I am whiter than a sheet of bleached A4 paper.

Would you rather fight a horse-sized duck, or 100 duck-sized horses?
I think it would be quite satisfying to don some steel cap boots and simply kick away an onrushing hoard of 100 duck-sized horses. I’d also be a bit concerned if a horse-sized duck took flight and decided to evacuate its bowels mid-flight.

How many ways can you get a needle out of a haystack?
Lots, but just get your common or garden industrial sized magnet and wave it around the haystack until successful.

How many people are using Facebook in San Francisco at 2:30pm on a Friday?
According to the 2011 census, the approximate population of San Francisco is 813,000. According to Facebook, nearly a third (31.2%) of the population of the USA and Canada use Facebook. This leads me to conclude that around 254,000 people in San Francisco have potential access to Facebook. Taking into consideration the time of day when most people are at work or school and have probably finished their lunch breaks, it is safe to assume that the majority of those users will not be using Facebook at that time. This leads me to assert that <127,000 people will be on Facebook. Further considering the unemployed, students, and people who use facebook at work, it would be safe to assume a minimum of around 20,000 people will be active at this time. Taking the midpoint between these two figures, my estimated answer would be that around 54,000 people are using Facebook in San Francisco at 2.30pm on a Friday.

Name 5 uses of a stapler without staple pins.
· Stick some googly eyes on it and make a bitey yet friendly desk-monster-companion.
· Depending on the size, it could make a serviceable murder weapon when you’ve left your crowbar at home and are in a pinch.
· Extract the internal spring and use it to facilitate usage of a broken clicky pen, or to craft a miniature pogo stick.
· A simple yet stylish paperweight solution.
· Use as normal to give an attractive indented line border to those boring office documents.

Given the numbers 1 to 1000, what is the minimum numbers guesses needed to find a specific number if you are given the hint “higher” or “lower” for each guess you make.
With my pedantic hat on, the minimum number of guesses you would need is 1 if you are lucky enough to guess first time. The maximum number of guesses needed to guarantee the right answer is 10.

Josh Gayle

Account Executive

Josh Gayle
I’m Josh! I am studying for an apprenticeship in business administration and am working under the title of Account Manager. I have recently moved from South London, which is different to say the least from Bakewell. I’ve never seen so many fields and sheep in my life. I’ve had a variety of jobs prior to this, from painting and decorating to designing adverts for Smirnoff and Captain Morgan.

I’m a massive football fan and my team is Sheffield United which I’ve been taking some stick in the office about as they have failed to get promoted, yet again. I also enjoy art and I am always creating pieces of work in my spare time outside the office. I have done a number of commissioned pieces and designed the set of a play whilst at school.

Getting to know Josh;

Frances Nash

Account Manager

Fran Nash
Hello to you all, I’m Fran & I’ve arrived at Bright Digital Minds as a new Account Manager. My work background is pretty varied ranging from Accounts, Administration & Customer Service but I think that all of this has given me great experience for my new position within the company.

A lifelong dream of mine has always been to live in New York which is quite a drastic change from the Derbyshire Countryside that I’ve been brought up in. I’ve been there twice & it most certainly made me fall in love with the place even more, Hot dogs, Pretzels & Yellow Cabs what’s not to like .

I’m a bit of a bookworm & absolutely love anything written by James Patterson. He has a certain way of combining the right amount of gore with a great twist that will make me finish one of his books in a couple of days flat!!

Growing up I always wanted to be individual so when I was asked the all important question “What did I want to be when I grew up” the answer was simple, either a Freelance Journalist or anything to do with Criminology because what’s better then learning about blood splatter?!?! In reality the nearest I came to this was by watching one too many CSI’s but it’s still something that I find extremely interesting. Even though I never got to become a Freelance Journalist I consider my new position at Bright Digital Minds to be very close to this dream job, which is why I can’t wait to get stuck in & get to know our clients even better & hopefully shine as part of a great team.

Getting to know Fran;
How do you weigh an Elephant if you can’t use scales

If you could be a Chocolate Bar which would it be & why
Bournville as it’s always nice to be a little bitter.

Why on Earth are you here today
To carve out a good career for myself & to learn as much as possible.
